AMG Development is a full service, vertically integrated product development firm with keen expertise in retail packaging and point of sale displays. AMG’s creative teams infuse each project with a balance of good design and market insights. AMG engineering teams match the resulting ideas to a select domestic or international manufacturing resource to ensure price and performance benchmarks are achieved. The result? AMG transforms clients’ ideas from rough napkin drawings into appealing, innovative products and packaging that spend little time on store shelves.

AMG approaches each project with one guiding rule: listen to the customer. Team members must understand the customer’s goals, vision, and passion. Armed with these guidelines, everyone, from their industrial designer in Finland to their quality manager on the Hong Kong factory floor, contributes unexpectedly fresh solutions to the development process. Designs are thoroughly validated through a series of sketches, renderings, prototypes, and computer simulations. Once designs are finalized, AMG begins production, which also includes packaging and shipping final product to the distribution center. A team approach to listening to customers at the outset of the engagement allows their guidelines to be represented at each stage of the process. This is AMG’s formula for success.

Janne Levanen, founder and principal developer, brings more than 20 years of senior-level product development experience to each contract. Whether the client is a garage inventor or a Fortune 500 company AMG can execute all aspects of their projects. He formed AMG Development to centrally monitor and integrate the key phases of product development: design, engineering, production, packaging, shipping, and POS materials.

our projects

Fox POD Display

Fox POD Display
The customer wanted a Point of Sale display for their new line of high end knee braces. The unit needed to work on slat wall just as well as it does on the counter top or inside the display case. The display needed to be an extension of the product so it would allow the knee brace to stand out. AMG achieved this by using like colors and materials such a carbon fiber plastic and metal.

GL3 (Mechanix Wear Glovelight)

GL3 (Mechanix Wear Glovelight)
AMG is co-inventor of this glove with LED light built in. This product enables the user to get light to exactly where they need it…to their fingertips. How many times have you held a flash light in your mouth or pinched between your head and shoulder trying to get light where you need it? Even a head light’s beam is blocked by your hands in some smaller hard to reach areas. AMG helped develop this great solution with Mechanix Wear so people can get light to where they need it and have both hands available for the job. Mechanix Wear…The tool that fits like a glove “Trade mark”

Tigi Bed Head Display

Tigi Bed Head Display
The inspiration for this design by well-known designer Massimo Pizzoleo was what he referred to as “City scape” The vertical images of the models appear the same as the giant murals you see on the sides of high-rise buildings in NY, LA and Hollywood. The shelves of products appear as windows when fully loaded with product.

Sexy Hair Feeder Display

Sexy Hair Feeder Display
With shelf space at a premium in hair salons and beauty retailers Sexyhair Concepts wanted a compact but stunning way to display their line of hair care products. AMG proposed an injection molded gravity feeder system so the products could be stacked vertically instead of front to back. This approach allowed for a wall of graphics above the product that really grabs the attention of the customer roaming the isles.
